Malin’s 110th Year Celebration
The City of Malin, along with Malin Park, will be celebrating their 110th year of the City and 75th year of the park on July 3-7, 2019. Historically, this event has drawn thousands of people from Oregon, California, Washington and Idaho; and this year should prove to be no exception.
As Malin celebrates its 110th anniversary and Malin Park celebrates it’s 75th anniversary as Oregon’s very first park district, there are a series of events scheduled for July 3-7.
Events will commence July 3rd with the Malin Royal Firecrackers Pageant, hosted by the Malin Community Service Club. The Malin Royal Firecrackers is a program developed to instill, within our elementary-aged youth, the idea to give back to the community through community service projects. This is their 2nd year of being celebrated as a group who serves the community.
Celebrations continue on July 4th with a merchant breakfast, swap meet, parade, 26th Annual Show-N-Shine Car Show, raffle, live music in the park, and a dynamic fireworks show at dusk.
July 5th begins with Historical and Agricultural Tours, a matinee at the Broadway Theater, museum hours from 4-8pm, and Downtown Cruise Night and Street Dance/Concert in the Park with the Kurt Van Meter Band from 6-10pm.
July 6th events start with the 1st Annual Disc-Golf Tournament, Historical and Agricultural Tours, Free Lunch at Noon talent show All Class Reunion, Czech music, Beer Garden, and fun games and activities for the kids.
A collaborative effort between the City of Malin, Malin Park, Rural Klamath Connects and Discover Klamath for marketing is underway. Details regarding this event can be found by calling 541-723-2021, or by visiting the City of Malin website at www.cityofmalin.org.
